Recommendation from Secretary McDonel for an appropriation of $10,800' to pay for the cost of moving the piggery from its present location to the 0-idiey Farm, farther south on the college farms. This is necessary to make the space now occupied by the piggery available as the site for the new water reservoir. 19. Recommendation from Secretary McDonel for authorisation to purchase new equipment for the college garage when it is moved to the new location in the stadium, at a cost of $5000, to be charged to Alterations and Improvements. 20* Report of the death of Bernard X. Slamkcwski, a first lieutenant in the Air Transport of the CBI theatre. He was reported missing on January 18, 19^4, while flying supplies and equipment to Burma. After a two-year search for the crew the War Department issued a declaration of death. Mr. Siamkowski was enrolled as a student in Liberal Arts during 1937-39- 21. Recommendation for the establishment of a classification of an I.3.M. Machine Operator II, with a salary .range of $2580 to $2700 per year- 7* Increase in salary for Dr. R. P. Langham, Department of Animal Pathology, to $5700 beginning July 1, 19½. Of this amount $2550 is to be paid from Experiment Station funds. ADDITIONAL MISCELLANEOUS ITEMS 1* Consideration of the matter of allocation of the $375*000 recently voted by the Legislature for buildings and equipment for research in the plant industries and- animal diseases. Mr. George Farley, Chairman of the Michigan Agricultural Conference, met with the Board. On motion of Mr. Mueller, seconded by Mr* Brody* it was voted to approve in principle the recom mendations of the Agricultural Conference and instruct the Secretary, in cooperation with the School of Agriculture, to prepare plans, specifications and estimated costs of the desired green houses and facilities for animal disease research,- the exact allocation to be determined on the basis of this information* 2- Receipt cf certain information from Mr.'Tred Buss concerning certain provisions in his will that affect Michigan State College in connection with the Russ Forest. On motion of Mr. Mueller, seconded by Miss Jones, it was voted to instruct the Secretary to write to Mr. Russ expressing the sincere appreciation of the Board for his continuing generosity and assuring him that the forest properties in which he is Interested will always be maintained and operated in accordance with his wishes.. 3* Mr. Lewis Sarvis, architect for the Continuing Education building,met with the Board and dis cussed the progress of this project* On motion of Miss Jones, seconded DJ Mr* Armstrong, it was voted to authorise Mr* Sarvis to com plete the plans and specifications for the Continuing Education Hotel Prefect in accordance with the sketches shown-to the Board,;subject to such minor changes as may be approved by the Secretary.
