The Board was informed of the pending recommendation from the Commencement Committee that Commencement he changed from Sunday, June 3 to Saturday* June 2, unless the Board disapproves. The Board has no objection to this change. 18. Mr. Calder met with the Board and discussed plans for the new library. Pinal disposition of the matter was put over until the next Board meeting. The follow ing rates are recommended: Single occupancy Double occupancy $5*00 -oer night 6.00 -per night for those registered in conferences 7*50 per night for others For the 2-room suites 15.00 per night These rates will take care of the costs of operation with the College furnishing 40 per cent of the cost of the light, heat, and electricity, and the actual cost for custodial and similar services for that portion of the building used in the Continuing Education program. Extensions granted to occupants of; college hous-^ ing if it can be shown that effort is ] being made to acquire housing. On motion of Mr. Mueller, seconded bv Br. Smith, it was voted to approve the above rates. Recommendation from the Administrative Sroup that the Manager of Married Housing, upon written request of the faculty member, be permitted to grant an extension of 3 months to anyone whose residence in college-owned housing units has exceeded the time limit set up in the tenure regu lations concerning housing. This extension may be renewed for another 3 months if it can be clearly shown that a reasonable effort is being made to acquire housing. Requests for both of these extensions of time must be approved by the faculty member1 s department head and dean. !To extension beyond this $-month -oeriod will be granted unless the faculty member has actu ally purchased a house or has a house under const-ruction.
