On motion of Mr. Waterbury, the resolution of the Board passed at the former meeting .by which the Secretary was instructed to advertise for bids for the erection of a baKery, was reconsidered and on motion of Mr. Beaumont was laid, upon the table. On motion of Mr. Beaumont, the salary of Mr. J. C. BoeK of the Chemical department was made $1100.00 for the ensuing year and Mr. J. R. Mitchell and Mr. H.H. Morris, were appointed instructors in the Chemical department at a salary of $950.00 and ¢850,00 respectively, and Mr. S. L. Secretary was directed to order a car of Nut, Pea & SlacK from the Robert Gage Coal Co., Bay City, Michigan, the only party bidding en Mlcnigan coal, for test and to report the results to the Board. On motion of Mr. Faterbury, §2500.00 was added to the apportionment for Bulletins for the present six months period. President Snyder announced the appointment of R. a. Carr as Super intendent of the Chatham Experiment station at a salary of |1200.00 per annum. On motion of Mr. Woodman, an additional stenographer for the Agricul tural Division was authorized. The Secretary presented a petition of Mrs. Fred. A, Aldrich and twenty other members of the Garland Street Literary Club of Flint in reference to changing the name of the College and removing the old College buildings.
