Recessed for lunch at 12:30 p.m. Reconvened in the Heritage Room, Kellogg Center, at 2:20 p.m. Present: Trustees Carrigan, Bruff, Krolikowski, Martin, Radcliffe, Smydra, and Stevens. University officers C. R. Wharton, Jr. , E. G. Ballard, L." W. Carr, Jr. Absent: Trustee Stack. The Board continued its discussion of the Administrative Data Processing Department. No votes were taken. There was substantial agreement, however, on the following points: 1. The Board should not abridge existing grievance procedures. 2. Disciplinary actions should be consistent for similar violations of University rules and procedures. Further discus sion of Admin. Data Processing Dept.; several i points agreed upon 3. Appropriate administrators should review the record to ascertain if all violations of University rules and state law have received appropriate corrective action. •4. The Board should not serve as a "trail court" to sift specific charges and counter charges. 5. Vice President Wilkinson should immediately prepare for Board action an outline of procedures to select a permanent Director of Administrative Data Processing within 90 days. (Secretary's note: These procedures were adopted by the Board on March 25. See Other Items for Action, item 9, page 9125 of March 25 minutes.) 6. Vice President Wilkinson should inform employees of the Administrative Data Processing Department of the status of recommendations pertaining to the Department!
