MINUTES OF THE SPECIAL MEETING
of the
MICHIGAN STATE UNIVERSITY
BOARD OF TRUSTEES
January  31, 1980

I President Mackey  called  the meeting  to order in Room 105, Kellogg Center, at
| 7:10  p.m.

Present:  Trustees Krolikowski, Lick, Martin, Radcliffe, and  Stack;

President Mackey and Secretary Ballard

Absent:  Trustees Bruff and  Sawyer

There were no requests  to address  the Board.

1.  Appointment of Head Football  Coach

Trustee Krolikowski moved  the appointment  of Frank D. Waters as Head  Football
Coach, Intercollegiate Athletics, at an initial annual salary  of $47,000,
effective January 30, 1980, through January  29, 1984; subject  to contract.
Seconded by Trustee Radcliffe,  Unanimously  approved*

Adjourned, at 7:15. p.m.
