Kenneth Beachler was born on October 11, 1935 in Battle Creek, Michigan. He received his B.A. degree with high honors in speech and theatre from MSU in 1963. He worked as a professional actor in Chicago before joining WKAR in 1959. He served as assistant director of the MSU Lecture-Concert series and became director in 1971 (-1981). For 1982-1992, he was the Executive Director of the Wharton Center.
