Albert Blanding of Lowell Mich. died yes­ terday morning at 5:30 o’clock after a little over a week of sickness. Mr. Blanding was. 19 years old, a member of the freshman class; and of the Olympic society. A short exercise was held in the Chapel, conducted by Pres. Clute. A beautiful floral offering was laid on the casket by his friends. After the exercises a large number of students formed in line and led the procession as far as the College gate. A committee from the Olympic society and from the students association accompanied the body to Lowell. The sympathies of the entire body of students and faculty go with the poor father who is today bearing away the body of a dear and exceptionally bright son. May the Kind Father be with the stricken family and especially with the sisters who today are mourning the loss of an only brother. Mr. Rich spoke to the students last night on the tariff on wool. Mr. Watkins is still very sick with measles, but we are all glad to know that his mother is with him. Dr. Kedzie is in Blissfield and will not re­ turn until Monday. Almost all the present display of flowers at the green house is to be used to decorate the Chapel for the Easter service tomorrow. Mrs. Corbin has completed a very successful week with the “Kid” Academy. One of the pupils says “the new teacher is a jim dandy’’. Murphy is training the boys today. There are now nine pneumatic tired bicycles on the College grounds. Mr. Corbin is driving a new horse.
