I n June, 1912, nine · members were graduated, leaving twenty-seven active members to take up the work . this year. The circle has been enlarged from time to time) through the year and now the membership totals , thirty-eight. (The roll is given on the opposite page.) . The li tera ry work of the men during the year has been welt directed and carried out; the programs have been interesting and a source of p leasure and real benefit to us all. The work and the man- agement of the society's other busi ness has been done with a , har- monious " pull i ng together" on the part of the members-a harmony in the ranks which has not only tended to produce better work but has added greatly to the fraternal life of the society. · THE FIRE March· 18th, a fire broke out in the house. The blaze started under the floor of one of the lavatories on the second floor and gained con siderable headway before finally controlled. I n order to get at the flames, the floor of the lavoratory was ripped up and the ceiling of the assembly room below was pierced. Axe, fire and water combined ' made the house a sorry sight after the fire and necessitated the ex penditure of some hundreds of dollars for repairs. However, the dam age was entirely covered by insurance. The matter was satisfactorily adjusted with the undewriters and a check covering the expense of repairs has been paid to the registrar.. This item appears in the report of the registrar on page 6. FIN~NCE The finances of the society have been the ~ubject of much thought during the past year, the chief object of consideration being the debt on the house. Several methods for liquidating this debt have been devised and discarded but a plan is now in operation that we believe assures the society a clear title to the house within eight or ten years. The plan, in brief, is as follows: Every member, who has been in the society for two years or more, upon leaving school gives his note to the society for $50.00; the notes due at the end 01 five years and payable in five equal annual installments. The twelve Lits in this year's graduating class have signed notes aggregating $575.00 and the paper is now with the American Savings Bank of Lansing. The Bank will have charge of the collections. This is the year of the Triennial Reunion of Alumni of M. A. C. Plans for this reunion have been practically completed by the Alumni Association and it is expected that this year's event will bring more alumni back to East Lansing next June than ever before. The Lit. have been planning to take care of their alumni for commencement week and we hope to see everyone of them here. A program for Reunion Day, June 25, follows: 9:00 a. m.-Business meeting. 10:30 a. m.-Literary program. 12:30 a. m.-Banquet to be given by the State Board of Agricul- ture. 2:00 p. m.-Business meeting. 2:30 to 6:00 p. m.-Baseball game, 'Concert, Class reunions. 7:30 p. m.-Alumni Ball. COMMENCEMENT PROGRAM. Sunday, June 22, the baccalaureate sermon will be given in the armory. Monday evening at 6 p. m., the society plans to hold an informal stag for the Lits in order that the alumni may become better acquaint ed with the active men and vice versa. Tuesday is Commencement Day and Tuesday evening at 6 o'clock the annual Lit banquet will be held. The program of the literary meet ing will be given at the banquet as toasts. The commencement dance in the house will follow the banquet. The great number of alumni returning for the reunion will tend to place rooms at a premium and in order that accommodations may be had for our alumni we ask them to fill out the blank on opposite page and mail it to us by June 1. This will give us the approximate number which we may expect and if so desired, we will make every effort to find rooms at reasonable prices in East Lansing or Lansing for those returning. We will be able to accommodate a number of men in the dormitory also. Please Fill OutlThis Blank and Return to the Society by June 1st, if Possible. , Will you be at M. A.
