It seems like every year a new record is set in attendance and this is a fine tribute to our profession. Those of you who were in Anaheim saw a fine educational program, a great equipment show and the weather wasn’t bad either. My c o n g r a t u l a t i o n s go to Ted Woehrle for being re-elected to the National Board of Directors for a term of two years. Nice going, Ted!!! I would also like to congratulate two of our local members, G e o r g e Prieskom and Jerry Faubel, for their fine contributions to the educational program. The Annual Golf Tournament was won by the Connecticut Association, but right behind them, a close second, was the Michigan foursome composed of Bob, Earl and George Prieskorn and Ward Swanson. Go get’ um next year fellas. Bob Prieskorn also finished second in the seniors division. My personal thanks go to all of our members for the excellent representa tion we had in Anaheim. Much know ledge is gained through your participa tion at this national conference. The Hospitality Room was again I manned by Bob and Jackie Hope and Gene and Barbara Johanningsmeir. AI special thank you to these people for their rewarding efforts. Your president, Jerry Gill THE MOST CONTROL AT THE LEAST EXPENSE U S. And since all of these factors dwarfed our ability to operate within it, it only seemed natural that we should structure a program of growth that included new facilities in it — eviden- housing, and service training functions of our operations under one roof, but it likewise gives the required room to expand our facilities in a manner that will compliment the paralleling growth of the market. structure The building itself is a two story that covers 36,000 brick square feet and sits on a 6-acre parcel of g r o u nd on Opdyke Road — one quarter mile north of the new Lion’ s stadium. An increase of 20% over last year was hard to explain but it helps to strengthen the belief that the turfgrass industry is on the upswing in Michigan. Agrico Country Club Fertilizer for tees and greens provides more efficient feeding. It gets down to the grass roots quicker, and gives you more feeding power for your money. We ll prove it to you on your own course, free of charge. While other fertilizers are still at the surface level—where they can be mowed away by greens mowers—Agrico’s 18-4-10 formula is already rapidly penetrating to the root zone. The key to its rapid penetration is Agrico’s scientifically sized, extremely dense particles. These tiny, non-burning granules are quickly dissolved and absorbed to provide instant, longer lasting feeding power. With far less pick-up by mowers. Proven on leading golf courses, Agrico’s 18-4-10 contains the balanced nutrient formula necessary for controlled sustenance of high-quality turf. Ten units of water insoluble nitrogen provide the balanced ratio necessary for continued, long-term feeding. Quickly available sources of nitrogen cause immediate green-up... Sulphate of potash increases summer durability and winter hardiness, while reducing disease incidence. Agrico’s low phosphorus content avoids excessive build-up while promoting vigorous, deep root formation. “We’ll Go To Any Links” To prove that Agrico works more efficiently, we ll go to any links.
