If you missed it - you missed a lot. The Association provided delicious ham, baked beans, lemonade, and oh that brown bread - it was all delicious. George Prieskorn and his mother did a great job of hosting the picnic and making us all feel so welcome. After introductions and having lunch, there were lots of t h i n g s to do; swimming, water skiing, boating, fishing, tennis, horse shoes, shuffle- board, and of course, golf, golf, golf. If that wasn’t enough, we had a hay ride that started with singing, and ended with a happy straw throwing contest. You just couldn’t have asked for a better day, or a better place, or nicer people (that’ s us). Our thanks again to George and his mom, for making it all possible. The fishing was great? And We’ll Go To Any Links To Prove It! It’s a fact. Agrico Country Club Fertilizer for tees and greens provides more efficient feeding. It gets down to the grass roots quicker, and gives you more feeding power for your money. We ll prove it to you on your own course, free of charge. While other fertilizers are still at the surface level—where they can be mowed away by greens mowers—Agrico’s 18-4-10 formula is already rapidly penetrating to the root zone. The key to its rapid penetration is Agrico’s scientifically sized, extremely dense particles. These tiny, non-burning granules are quickly dissolved and absorbed to provide instant, longer lasting feeding power. With far less pick-up by mowers. Proven on leading golf courses, Agrico’s 18-4-10 contains the balanced nutrient formula necessary for controlled sustenance of high-quality turf. Ten units of water insoluble nitrogen provide the balanced ratio necessary for continued, long-term feeding. Quickly available sources of nitrogen cause immediate green-up... Sulphate of potash increases summer durability and winter hardiness, while reducing disease incidence. Agrico’s low phosphorus content avoids excessive build-up while promoting vigorous, deep root formation. “We’ll Go To Any Links” To prove that Agrico works more efficiently, we ll go to any links. Complete the coupon below, and we ll come to you with a free product demonstration. We ll prove beyond a doubt the effectiveness of Agrico’s 18-4-10 formula for tees and greens. Schroeder calls this fear in his new book “ The Trace Elements and Man” , and he condemns it for distracting public attention from what he con siders the real danger in our diet. It is the elements taken out of food during processing which are causing wide spread disease and death, says Dr. Schroeder. Heart Attacks: An acute deficiency of chromium in (American) diets is the basic cause of heart disease, Dr. Schroeder believes. He supports his contention with many years of data from Dartmouth Medical Schools Element Laboratory in Vermont. “ Chromium is necessary for insulin to metabolize glucose in the blood stream” , he writes. Without enough chromium, sugars and fatty acids are deposited as fats in tissues and as atherosclerotic plaques which finally block arteries. And they demon strated why: The primary source of this trace element in the human diet is the hulls of cereal grains and raw sugar. We remove 90% of this chromium with the high degree of processing necessary to produce the white flour and superfine sugar which Americans prefer. White flour, sugar and highly processed oils account for over 60% of the calories in American diets. “ The theory that a high dietary is responsible has p r ov ed intake of cholesterol for artherosclerosis false,” Dr. Schroeder writes. “ When cholesterol is eaten in egg yolks, animal fats and organ meats, the liver makes less cholesterol and excretes more, so that there is little net effect. Only during high intakes such as provided by a dozen eggs a day does the blood cholesterol level rise.” High Blood Pressure: A high level of cadmium in the kidneys in relation to zinc is a c o n t r i b u t i n g , if not sometimes the whole, cause of high blood pressure,” says Dr. Schroeder. “ In many areas where this ratio is low, the incidence of hypertension is high, and vice versa.” A diet of unprocessed foods, such eat, contains as African natives enough zinc to mask the effects of cadmium. But here again, western man removes the zinc during processing. Pesticides: “ Environmental pollu tion by toxic metals such as lead from gasoline is much more serious and much more insidious than pollution by organic substances such as pesticides and weed killers. Most organic sub stances break down by natural processes.” “ The News Media Have Built Up A National Paranoia about poisons which could ruin our health: Pesticides, food radiation, additives, trace elements and the like,” Dr. Schroeder con cludes. Some scientists have been affected by this mental disease, and add their own strident cries of danger. There is an abysmal lack of reason, logic and common sense shown by some is reflected scientists which in attitudes of the public. I know you are always interested looking for o p p o r t u n i t i e s for I don’t know if you would be in terested in this, but I thought I would mention it to you because it could be a real “ sleeper” in making a lot of money with very little investment. A group of us are considering investing in a large cat ranch near Hermosillo, Mexico. It is our purpose to start rather small, twleve kittens each year; skins can be sold for about 20$ for white ones and up to 40$ for the black. This will give us 12 million cat skins per year to sell at an average price of around 43$ making our revenues about $3 million each year. This really averages out to $10,000 a Opinion on an Opinion Conf. keeping this in mind as we switch fungicides, pesticides, and sources of nutrients in the fertilizer mixtures. We have observed strange new di seases and problems since dropping materials such as mercury and limiting use of cadmium. Who knows, maybe the turf is getting high blood pressure from the lack of mercury in its diet or is subject to heart attacks during hot weather from overdoses of sugar in its blood. day - excluding Sundays and holidays, j A good Mexican cat man can skin about 50 cats per day at a wage of $3.15 a day. It will only take 663 men to operate the ranch so the net profit would be over $8,200 per day. Now, the cats would be fed on rats exclusively. Rats multiply four times as fast as cats. We would start a rat ranch adjacent to our cat farm. If we start with a million rats, we will have four rats per cat each day. The rats will be fed on the carcasses of the cats that we skin. This will give each rat a quarter of a cat. You can see by this is a clean operation, self-supporting and really automatic throughout. The cats will eat the rats and the rats will eat the cats and we will get the skins. that this business Let me know if you are interested; as you can imagine, I am rather parti cular who I want to get into this, and want the fewest investors possible. Eventually, it is my hope to cross the cats with snakes, for they will skin themselves twice a year! This will save the labor costs of skinning as well as give me two skins for one cat. May I hear from you at your earliest opportunity.
