INFORMATION FOR CONTRIBUTORS PULA is a Social Science journal of the University of Botswana devoted mostly to African Studies with particular emphasis on Southern Africa. The academic commu- nity of the University of Botswana can in particular use the PULA as a forum for publishing their research findings. PULA welcome contributions on important Southern African issues from scholars all over the world. Articles which are narrative or descriptive and lacking in analystical content are not likely to be accepted. Com- parative articles are welcome. All the papers submitted wil normally be referred to experts in the field before accep- tance by the Journal. Articles submitted to PULA should be original contributions and should not be under consideration by another publication at the same time. If an article is under consider- ation by another publication the author should clearly indicate this at the time of submission. An abstract of the article to 10 offsprints and two copies of the issue in which their article appears. Authors should submit their papers in duplicate in English. They should be double spaced, typed copies and should not normally exceed 20 - 25 pages. The foot notes and references should be at the end of the paper and should be serially numbered. In the case of reference to books, the author title ofthe book, place of publication, publisher, date of publication and page numbers should be given in that order. In the case of articles, the author, title of article, name of the Journal, Vol. No., issues No. in brackets, the year and the page numbers should be given in that order. Title of book and Journal should be underlined. References to privately circulated or mimeogra- aphed material should also contain full reference details. Tables and diagrams should be reduced to the minimum. When presented they should have titles and should be serially numbered. 102
