A physician born in Ashburnham, Massachusetts in 1823, who practiced around Lowell, Massachusetts and Nashua, New Hampshire. In addition to The Factory Girl, he is the author of The Lady's Present, or Beauties of Female Character (1856), a conduct manual for young women concerning itself with moral and physical well being. He died in Hempstead, Tex, September 9, 1863.
