MICHELLE ADATO is researching a PhD on South African co-operatives for
Cornell University and was located in the Centre for Industrial and Labour Studies
at the University of Natal while conducting the research.
FIDELA FOUCHE lectured in philosophy at the University of Natal, Pieter-
maritzburg until the end of last year. She now teaches in gender studies in the
Department of Classics at the same University.
BILL FREUND is an editor of this journal.
GILLIAN HART, originally a South African economist, is Professor of Town and
Regional Planning at the University of California, Berkeley.
ALASTAIR MCINTOSH has recently completed a PhD at the University of
Birmingham and is attached to the Institute of Social and Economic Research,
University of Durban-Westville.
GEOFF SCHREINER, a veteran trade unionist, long employed by the National
Union of Metal Workers of South Africa, is currently working for the National Peace
Commission.
