   ANDREW MERRIFIELD lectures in Property Development and
   Construction Economics at the University of Natal, Durban.
   VISHNU PADAYACHEE is associate professor at the Institute for Social and
   Economic Research, UDW, and is on the Editorial Board of Transformation.
   DORIPOSEL lectures in economics at the University of Natal, Durban
   ALISON TODES lectures in the Town & Regional Policy Department at the
   University of Natal, Durban.
|   CHERRYL WALKER, the author of Women and Resistance in South Africa,
j, is head of sociology at the University of Durban, Natal.
f  PETER WATERMAN has written extensively on labour in Africa and
   international labour issues more generally. He is visiting the University of
;. Durban-Westville but is based at the Institute of Social Studies in The Hague.
