Songs and stories from working on the water
Singer and song writer Gordon Bok talks about his life as a musician and sailor during a performance titled, "Songs and stories from working on the water". Bok describes learning to play from his family of musicians and sings and tells stories about his time aboard ships sailing the Atlantic. He also talks about learning songs form Mongolian immigrants in Philadelphia as well as other cultural influences on his life. Question and answer session follows. A small portion of the presentation is lost because of technical problems. Bok is introduced by Professor John P. Beck, Associate Director, Michigan State University School of Human Resources and Labor Relations. Part of the "Our Daily Work/Our Daily Lives" Brown Bag series sponsored by the MSU School of Human Resources and Labor Relations and the MSU Museum. Held in the MSU Main Library.
