U.S. President Barack Obama speaks to a joint session of Congress on job creation and taxation
President Barack Obama addresses a joint session of Congress and proposes the creation of the "American jobs act". Obama says that nothing in the proposed legislation is controversial, touts tax breaks for companies that create jobs, payroll tax cuts for both workers, and investment in rebuilding infrastructure to put construction workers back to work. Obama also recommends budget cuts in some areas as well as a tax increase on the wealthiest in America and challenges Congress to pass the bill which is already supported by the Chamber of Commerce and the AFL-CIO.
