John Pfaff : Grand Haven and Spring Lake, 1925-1975
John Pfaff chats with Chuck Sikkenga about his recollections of growing up in Grand Haven and Spring Lake. His boyhood memories include riding the interurban lines, Clarence Buhl's Dray business, the Ackley College, the Robinhood Theater, the family-owned Grand Haven Baking Company, and grape farming in Spring Lake. As a young man, he witnessed the 1933 robbery of the Peoples Bank, played in various local bands and in the Army, and worked at the Story & Clark Piano Factory. In later life, he served as president of the Grand Haven Area Historical Society and the first volunteer director of the Tri-Cities Historical Museum.
