Detroit native Jim Daniels, Professor of English and Creative Writing at Carnegie Mellon University, reads from his works, "United States Street football", "Revenge of the crash test dummies" and "In line for the exterminator". He answers questions from the audience about free verse poetry and prose poems, seeing people from the old neighborhood, and incorporating memories from his youth into his writing. Daniels is introduced by Professor John P. Beck for the Michigan State University Libraries' Michigan Writers Series which is described by Peter Berg.
