U.S. President Barack Obama awards Specialist Leslie H. Sabo, Jr. the Medal of Honor for valor above and beyond the call of duty during the Vietnam War
During a ceremony at the White House, President Barack Obama describes the actions of Medal of Honor recipient Specialist Leslie H. Sabo, Jr., for valor above and beyond the call of duty. Sabo, a member of the 506th Infantry Regiment, 101st Airborne Division, was killed in action on May 10, 1970 in what was later known as the "Mother's Day Ambush" in Se San, Cambodia. An unidentified military aide reads the official Congressional citation as the President presents the medal to Sabo's widow. U.S. Army Major General Chaplain Donald L. Rutherford, delivers the invocation and the benediction.
