Creating a killer : the Colorado National Guard, U.S. Empire, and the Ludlow Massacre
Otterbein University Professor of History Anthony DeStefanis delivers a talk entitled, "Creating a killer: the Colorado National Guard, U.S. Empire, and the Ludlow Massacre". Speaking from a slide show DeStefanis describes the massacre of striking miners and their families committed by the Colorado National Guard in 1914 at Ludlow. He explains the basis for the strike, the role the militia played in breaking it, and the ethnic tensions that played a role. DeStefanis is introduced by Professor John P. Beck, MSU School of Human Resources and Labor Relations.
