President Obama and Palestinian Authority President Mahmoud Abbas hold a joint press conference in the West Bank town of Ramallah. Abbas, speaking through an interpreter, expresses hope for peace and an end to occupation with a two state solution. He calls the continued expansion of Israeli settlements illegal. Obama praises the progress in the Palestinian Authority controlled areas and reminds listeners of the monetary support provided by the U.S. He renews a pledge of seeking peace through direct negotiations with the efforts of Secretary of State John Kerry.
