President Obama lays out his vision for a comprehensive plan to reduce carbon pollution, prepare the U.S. for the impacts of climate change, and lead global efforts to fight it. Obama announces he has directed the Environmental Protection Agency to begin federal regulations on carbon pollution by new and existing power plants. He also states that approval of the Keystone Pipeline project needs to be in the "nation's interest" and not exacerbate the effects of carbon pollution. Held at Georgetown University.
