President Obama takes a moment during his vacation in Martha's Vineyard to make a statement on the increasing violence and political unrest in Egypt. Obama expresses support for the Egyptian people and calls on the interim government to fulfill its pledge to conduct new elections and restore a democratic government. He also says that as a result of the unrest, scheduled joint military operations were cancelled.
