Dr. Kenneth E. Lewis, Michigan State University Professor of Anthropology, talks about his recently published book, "West to Far Michigan: Settling the Lower Peninsula, 1815-1860." Lewis talks about the settlement process, the rise of commercial agriculture, and how Michigan was integrated into the American economy. He answers questions from the audience. Lewis is introduced by MSU Librarian Michael Lorenzen. Part of the Michigan State University Libraries Colloquia Series. Held at the MSU Main Library.
