U.S. President George W. Bush declares war against Iraq
President George W. Bush announces to the American citizens the declaration of war against Iraq. Bush explains that at this moment the openning stages of the war are being undertaken through aircraft bombings on specific targets in Baghdad. Bush reassures that 38 nations support the United States decision to go to war. "I want Americans and all the world to know that coalition forces will make every effort to spare innocent civilians from harm. A campaign on the harsh terrain of a nation as large as California could be longer and more difficult than some predict. And helping Iraqis achieve a united, stable, and free country will require our sustained commitment."
