U.S. President Donald Trump nominates Alexander Acosta as Secretary of Labor
U.S. President Donald Trump announces Alexander Acosta as his new Labor Secretary nominee following Andrew Puzder's decision to withdraw from the process. Before taking questions, the president speaks at length about the first few weeks of his administration, jobs, his Supreme Court nominee, military spending, and his proposal to build a wall along the U.S.-Mexico border. Trump says that he will introduce a new executive order next week that will "comprehensively protect our country." He also criticizes the media, saying "the level of dishonesty" in the press "is out of control." Question topics include Michael Flynn's resignation as national security advisor, leaks of classified information from within the administration, and reported contacts between Trump advisers and Russia.
