U.S. President Barack Obama awards posthumously the Medal of Honor to Private First Class Anthony T. Kaho’ohanohano and Private First Class Henry Svehla for conspicuous gallantry in the Korean War
During a ceremony at the White House, President Barack Obama describes the actions of Medal of Honor recipients Private First Class Anthony T. Kaho’ohanohano, U.S. Army, and Private First Class Henry Svehla, U.S. Army, for conspicuous gallantry. Both men were killed in action during the Korean War. An unidentified military aide reads the official Congressional citation as the President presents the medals to family members in turn. U.S. Army Major General Chaplain Douglas L. Carver, delivers the invocation and the benediction.
