Dr. John M. Willinsky, Pacific Press Professor of Literacy and Technology at the University of British Colombia, delivers a talk entitled, "A Knowledge Exchange Model for Scholarly Publishing" at the Michigan State University Main Library. Willinsky proposes a shift in control of the dissemination of research information to the research library as the basic unit of knowledge management. He says that embracing such a model will reduce costs while improving value and access to information in the "knowledge economy". He also says that it is a viable alternative to the privatization of knowledge. Willinsky answers questions from the audience. He is introduced by Michigan State University Professor David Solomon.
