President Donald Trump announces he is reducing the size of the Bears Ears National Monument located in San Juan County Utah, and the Grand-Staircase Escalante National Monument, located in Kane and Garfield Counties in Utah. Trump describes the number of acres each will be reduced by and says the main reason for the reductions is to return the land back to the people of Utah. Following Trump's comments, he signs two executive orders confirming the reductions.
