Freedom form migration and independence as work in Lesotho : the dreams and realities of decolonization
John Aerni-Flessner, professor at the Residential College in the Arts and Humanities at Michigan State University, delivers a talk entitled, "Freedom form migration and independence as work in Lesotho : the dreams and realities of decolonization." Aerni-Flessner discusses research from his book "Dreams for Lesotho: independence, foreign assistance, and development" and describes the challenges the people of Lesotho had before and after gaining independence. He describes the lives of several Lesotho individuals who witnessed Lesotho independence and how their activism and goals for the future of Lesotho changed over time. He answers questions from the audience. The event is convened by professor John P. Beck from the MSU School of Human Resources and Labor Relations.
