U.S. President Donald Trump announces an agreement to reopen the government after a 35-day shutdown
President Donald Trump announces an agreement to reopen the government after it has been shutdown for thirty-five days. Trump says that the U.S. Congress will pass and he will sign a continuing resolution which will fund the federal government for the next three weeks, allow furloughed federal workers to be paid, and provide time to negotiate on issues surrounding border security. Trump declares that a border wall is necessary and will stop human trafficking and drug trafficking and prevent criminals from entering the United States. Held in the White House Rose Garden.
