What's doing in Western Michigan. 1949-09-04
In this installment of "What's doing in Western Michigan," Dr. Willis Dunbar discusses local news, as well as past, present, and future events. He comments on the dramatic rise in automobile accidents and car related fatalities, then lists in detail numerous traffic accidents in the area. Dunbar reports on a new plant coming to Cassopolis, plans to build a new $20,000 football stadium for Coldwater Highschool, a church in Ada is celebrating its 100th anniversary, and Decatur Michigan elects a Celery Queen from the local highschool for its upcoming Celery Festival. Hugh Harper relays various lighter news articles, describes the upcoming Red Flanel Festival in Cedar Springs, and reads a humorous poem by one of its residents.
