What's doing in Western Michigan. 1949-08-07
In this installment of "What's doing in Western Michigan," Dr. Willis Dunbar discusses local news, as well as past, present, and future events. He reports on a 70 year old living near South Haven lost $4,000 after falling victim of a confidence scheme, how Western Michigan can expect moderate weather this week following record heat, and how numerous people have reported they have been targeted by rackateers in the septic cleaning industry. Harry Travis provides the lighter news with stories about a duck in Greenville that has four feet and is being raised by a chicken, and how a Sturgis resident has had a swarm of bees move into a newly constructed wren house. Dunbar then describes the upcoming Ionia Free Fair that is now the second biggest in the state and is promising to have an enormous hour long parade this year.
