What's doing in Western Michigan. 1949-08
In this installment of "What's doing in Western Michigan," Dr. Willis Dunbar discusses local news, as well as past, present, and future events. He reports on the continuing White Pigeon Festival, upcoming Paw Paw Lakes day, and that a Newaygo man has been arrested for shooting his girlfriend. Dunbar describes how a man who had discovered oil while cultivating his cucumber crop has learned that he had in fact been farming on county land so the county will now receive the oil income. He also speaks of the highly anticipated start of football season in western Michigan, and recounts that there will now be 40 lighted fields at schools in the region for the teams to play on. Near the end of the broadcast a narrator is heard advertising a product over the dialog and the transcription ends abruptly shortly after that before the program ended.
