Inside the early twentieth century working class family : kin, work and neighborhood
Shannon Kirkwood, historian and independent scholar, delivers a talk called "Inside the early twentieth century working class family: kin, work and neighborhood", containing material from her upcoming book. Shannon discusses how housewives were often ignored by men in the labor movement and had to work hard to earn respect and have their work recognized as important to the working class labor movements and worthy of pay. In places like Copper Country they would even demand entire paychecks from their husband and sons. Hosted by MSU Professor John Beck.
