President Barack Obama speaks about the ties between the U.S. and Ireland, saying that the enduring, centuries-old relationship is bound by history, friendship, and shared values. He also says that Ireland is the first stop on his visit to Europe because he wants to reaffirm those "bonds of affection". Irish Taoiseach (Prime Minister) Enda Kenny provides a rousing introduction for the President, calling him a living example of the American Dream realized.
