U.S. President George W. Bush announces new Chairman of the Federal Reserve
President Bush announces his selection of Ben Bernanke to replace Alan Greenspan as Chairman of the Federal Reserve. Bush lists Bernanke's qualifications and experience in monetary policy and also praises Greenspan for his service through several presidential administrations. Bernanke also talks about Greenspan's service and pledges to continue to manage the Federal Reserve in a like manner.
