Transcontinental telephone address to Thomas A. Edison by Miller Reese Hutchison
Miller Reese Hutchinson, Thomas Edison's Chief Engineer, describes the devices he is using to record and transmit his voice. A few days later, on October 21, 1915, this same recording is played and transmitted from the Edison Laboratory in West Orange, NJ to Edison at the Panama-Pacific International Exposition in San Francisco, CA via AT&T's newly completed transcontinental telephone line.
