U.S. President Barack Obama and Vice President Joe Biden speak at the "Don't ask, don't tell" repeal signing ceremony
Vice President Joseph Biden makes opening remarks about fairness and equality then introduces President Barack Obama. Obama talks about Don't Ask, Don't Tell" policy in the U.S. military before signing the bill to repeal the policy. Obama also recounts the story of Lloyd Corwin whose life was saved by a gay soldier during the Battle of the Bulge, says that valor and heroism are not dependent on sexuality, race, religion or other factors, and declares that the repeal of the policy will allow thousands of talented people to serve proudly in the military.
