The series "Adventures in Michigan History" introduces its audience to unique inventions, attractions, and events that occurred in Michigan. In this episode, director/ producer Jim Culver explains the invention and implementation of "big wheels" into the logging industry of Michigan. Along with Ray Beck and Andie Neilson, Culver demonstrate how loggers used big wheels to improve logging transportation in the summer months when they could not use traditional methods, such as sleds. This episode is presented in cooperation with the Michigan Historical Commission.
