Students from Afar

Students from Afar promotes awareness of different cultural customs, folk music, and arts and crafts through long-form interviews with international students. In each episode, host Gordon Thomas asks a new group of students about a cultural practice specific to their native country, such as indoor entertainment or traditional dress, with the students often sharing by way of demonstration for the audience. Gordon Thomas is an assistant professor of speech, as well as advisor of the International club and president of the Michigan intercollegiate speech league.
