We all know how Corona caused havoc all over the world. Our lives were confined inside the four walls of our houses. Seeing the holocaust of Corona in my country as well as around the world, my mind used to get distracted. Seeing the surrounding environment started having some negative and some positive effects on my mind. In such a situation, I could not muster the courage to show the negative effects in my artwork because I am an emotional person. These pieces show that there will definitely come a day when we will all return to our normal lives. Art is just like meditation. I made these paintings so that I could distract myself with many other people and fill our society with positivity. I've expressed my feelings through these paintings. --Label design by exhibit curator Nancy DeJoy. Labels written by Ben Lash and his team in consultation with artist statements.

1 of 3: Corona Fighter
A photograph of a detailed, colorful, mithila painting with a patterned border split into 7 boxes. The top left shows covid structures surrounding a crying earth. To the right is a cityscape behind two masked people standing far apart. Next is a patient lying on a hospital bed, holding a doctor's hand in full protection equipment. On the bottom left is a person in a mask spraying something along a path. Next is a masked person in law enforcement attire holding a baton to a surprised, unmasked person. Next is a person working a fruit stand, wearing a mask. In the middle there's four people in front of a brick wall, two adults: one wearing traditional Indian clothing, the other with short hair, and two children: one with braided hair and the other with short hair.

2 of 3: Brave Cycle Girl
A photograph of a detailed black, white, and red mithila painting of people biking on tandem bikes down a street, most of them wearing facemasks and some wearing traditional Indian clothing and long braids. The top of the road comes from a cityscape stemming in the top left corner of the painting and ends in the lower right corner behind a small red house. Two people are stopped on the side of the road in the lower left corner to drink and in the upper right three people are sitting, praying in traditional Indian clothing with headpieces and large earrings. They are facing the water which runs in front of the city and bridge along the back of the painting.

3 of 3: Hope of Light
A photograph of a detailed black, white, and red mithila painting of people separated by an arch filled with covid molecules with sad faces and syringes below each of them, following the arch. Below the arch are four people facing each other, holding a candle, wearing masks. The two people on the left have very short hair and the other two have earrings, long wavy hair, and are wearing traditional Indian clothing; the people in the front appear to be adults with children behind them. Above the arch, no one is wearing a mask and all of them are smiling, and doing various things. There is a person in the middle with their hands up in a physician's attire.
