Davis arrives at a camp near Milwaukee, WI after enlisting into the army. His unit is boarding in a hotel for the next week or ten days. He visited another camp and saw people he was acquainted with. They did not have uniforms yet but were expecting them soon. He reminds his wife that he has some wheat to sell and getting the money to her.
