Thomas J. Davis writes to his wife about the cool, rainy weather that his regiment is experiencing, as well as disenchantment with the war. His regiment had an inspection of arms in the morning and were on picket duty. He is expecting payment next week and appreciates his wife Lucinda for her frugality, but wants her to spend money on things necessary to her comfort while he is away. He does not have much news to report, and describes the letters that he has received and those that he is expecting.
