Davis is waiting on a mail shipment to give him the most recent letters from his wife and his regiment is prepping to go to Corinth. The weather is cooling off in Memphis and Thomas suspects it is much cooler in Wisconsin. The battle of Corinth occurred one year ago on this day, and Davis has lost his pen and is writing in pencil. He has no further news to report.
