Davis writes to Lucinda and informs her of his good health. He notes that the Corps is repairing the railroad between Huntsville and Decatur. Davis also notes that the 18th Regiment has still yet to be mustered into the Veteran Service. The letter is continued on February 25. Davis writes that Jim Kingston is sick with measles. He details that he received a letter from Brother William who is located at Cleveland. Davis also writes that the Corps was paid and that he has collected part of the money he loaned to the other men. Davis details that the Corps finished the prior mentioned railroad bridge and have moved further away from Huntsville. He concludes by stating there have been no military movements of importance.
