This is a letter from O.G. Dunckel, a Union soldier, to his wife Elizabeth and their children. Dunckel is part of the forces that took Savannah, Georgia; only one man from the 14th was killed during the fighting. He brags about the victory and how many soldiers they beat. He asks his family if the money he sent them has arrived yet. Dunckel hopes to come home soon.
