Technology Assisted Smart Solar-System (TASS
This thesis focuses on the design, fabrications and testing of a Technology Assisted Smart Solar-System (TASS) that uses a solar panel both as an energy source and a sensor for tracking. A microcontroller, interfaced to a mini solar-cell array, was used to control and test the systems efficacy to track the light source employing (a) a motorized solar panel and (b) a robotic platform. The TASS packaging and printed circuit boards were designed and fabricated using 3-D inkjet printing. A roof-top TASS was built to demonstrate an in- expensive application. The TASS developed in this work is also applicable to a light-tracking flowerpot for a smart home.
