Accident occurred on the South Shore and Atlantic Railway at Sault Junction on the 19th day of July 1887, at 325 oclock A.M. caused by: Open witch ( when night train West passed there at 115 a.m. switch was set for main track). Night express east found switch for siding in place of main track. Before it could be stopped it ran in on siding, coming in contact with tender of engine standing on siding, damaging tender; also breaking pilot of train engine and drawbar between engine and baggage car. Train was delayed some 3 hours, arriving at St. Ignance 2 1/2 hours late. No persons injured either passenger or employee. Casualties - None.
