Eleanor Huzar began teaching in the MSU Department of History in 1960 after earning an undergraduate degree in ancient history from the University of Minnesota and a masters and PhD from Cornell University, also in ancient history. The courses she taught included a graduate reading course, an undergraduate history course, and the undergraduate survey of history course. Huzar served on the library committee, was chairman of the University Business Committee, and served as chair of the Classical Studies Program. She was also a member of the Romance and Classical Languages department, teaching history and ancient art. While at MSU, and even after her retirement in 1990, Huzar was an avid reader for WKAR's Radio Talking Book.
